Applied History Studies: Teaching and Learning Seminar on the Palace Museum and Ming–Qing History

The Department of History, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, together with the Centre for Research and Teaching in Chinese History, the Teacher Training Centre, and the Hok Yau Club, co-organised the Conference on History Education in the Great Bay Area on the HKSYU campus in November 2022. The conference invited principals, vice principals, and panel heads of history from secondary schools in Beijing, Shanghai, and across the Great Bay Area to present thematic papers. Scholars from Beijing, Guangdong, Malaysia, Macau, and Russia who specialise in history education were also invited to deliver academic presentations.

In March and April 2023, the Admissions Office, together with the Department of History, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, organised the “Palace Museum Guided Tour and Teaching Sharing Session” on campus. Vice principals, teachers, and students from six secondary and primary schools were invited to share their observations and teaching outcomes following their visits to the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

On 27 May 2023, the Loke Kok Kuen Chinese Cultural Legacy Research Trust and the Department of History, Hong Kong Shue Yan University co-organised the “Applied History Studies: Teaching and Learning Seminar on the Palace Museum and Ming–Qing History” on the HKSYU campus. Vice principals, teachers, and students from eight secondary and primary schools were invited to present their learning outcomes and reflections from their educational visits to the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
