History Department "Work Placement" (HIST380) Course Overview:
The "Work Placement" is an elective course offered by the History Department to third- and fourth-year students in line with the university's overall development strategy. It is also a compulsory course for students pursuing an Education concentration within the History Department. This course aims to provide work Placement opportunities, allowing students to reflect on and apply classroom knowledge through practical work experience, thus combining theory with practice. This strengthens teaching and learning effectiveness, enhances students' abilities and confidence, and enables them to meet the diverse needs of the socioeconomic landscape and achieve success in their personal career pursuits. To expand internship opportunities outside Hong Kong, starting from the 2026-27 academic year, the "Work Placement" course will increase summer internship places, providing opportunities for students interested in experiencing work outside Hong Kong.
